LG Electronics, which is now the No. 4 mobile phone maker in the world, reportedly will only focus to refine the smartphone rather than a tablet PC.

"We have decided to put all the development of a new tablet at the back of the 'stove' for a while in order to focus on the smartphone," said Ken Hong, a spokesman for LG, as quoted by Bloomberg.

LG itself has introduced a second tablet, Optimus Pad LTE earlier this year that would be present to compete with Samsung tablet, as well as attempts to challenge the iPad as well. The news Tuesday, Microsoft also finally launched its first tablet bersasis Windows, known as Surface.

Surface's presence would make the tablet market competition becomes increasingly fierce. However, whether the presence of Microsoft's latest tablet is also another reason for the LG behind his plans to step aside temporarily in a business tablet. Apparently, LG through his spokesman said it did not look Surface compete with anything that is now the focus of the Korean vendors.

So far the sale tablet from LG is known as Optimus Pad in the United States was regarded not as expected.

As known to date some of the major vendors are packing their tablet device with Android operating system, as if facing a huge wall when I have to compete head-on with iPad. In fact Apple's tablet continue to demand, as evidenced by its dominance in the arena of market competition tablet.

So, the decision of LG who want to focus on the smartphone rather than a tablet, it could be one of them because it was reluctant to compete head-on with iPad, which still looks very strong.
